We, at TCI Sanmar firmly believes that quality education is crucial for economic growth as it significantly contributes to a country’s human capital. Quality education enhances individual efficiency and enables economies to advance beyond basic manual tasks or simple production processes.
We contribute to this vision through various educational programs aimed at enhancing skills and performance. Our educational initiatives increase human capital, equipping individuals with the capabilities to secure better jobs and future opportunities.
Vocational Training Program
- TCI Sanmar conducts a leading program in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport that aims to train youngster with skills that enable them to adapt to the market demands.
- The company has provided young people with valuable opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge through a variety of training courses. These include:
- Welding training using electricity, argon gas, and photovoltaic cells as a renewable energy source.
- English language courses for individuals who are not proficient in the language.
- Computer courses for those without a technical education background.
- Programs designed to promote technical labour skills and essential life skills.
- We are dedicated to building a robust and well-trained labour force that can enrich not only the company, but the entire business and industrial community in Egypt.
- Between 2018 and 2022, we invested over EGP 2 million in three rounds of its vocational training program.
- This commitment aligns with the National Strategy for Sustainable Development: Egypt Vision 2030, and the National Program for Structural Reforms, which support the technical education and vocational training system. This system is crucial in bridging the gap between education and the labor market, fostering a skilled workforce for Egypt’s future growth.
GET program
- The strategic vision of the Sanmar Group led TCI Sanmar to replicate the successful Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) initiative from India in Egypt.
- We initiated the program by selecting graduate engineers through a rigorous process of screening, testing, and interviews. Candidates were chosen from various locations within the Canal Cities.
- These selected individuals, chosen to reflect the diversity of engineering disciplines, are expected to expand their talents and generate innovative ideas in their work.
- The program is continuously aligned with Sanmar’s need for talent across various engineering and business functions.
- The shortlisted candidates were granted a one-year internship, during which they received both classroom and on-the-job training under the guidance of specialised mentors and subject-specific trainers.
- The interns are exposed to all areas of the plant, ensuring comprehensive learning and training.
- The GET training program comprises three major components: Classroom Training, Plant Training, and On-the-Job Training with Project Assignments. Regular visits are arranged in coordination with Egyptian universities to the TCI Sanmar sites for the under graduate students for familiarisation with health safety and environment orientation with an overview on the petrochemical industry.
